The Lake Stevens Planning Commission unanimously elected Commissioner Janice Huxford as chair and continued Commissioner Jennifer Davis as vice chair at its Jan. 8 meeting.
The commission voted to approve the Nov. 6, 2024, meeting minutes before proceeding to officer elections. A motion to excuse Commissioner Jennifer Davis during the initial roll call was made and approved earlier in the meeting; later in the session the commission moved and approved motions to elect Huxford as chair and to continue Davis as vice chair.
David Levitan, senior planner, and other staff members outlined the agenda for the evening before the elections. After the vote, Chair Janice Huxford thanked the commission, saying, "I appreciate your support." Commissioners voiced congratulations before the meeting moved on to substantive agenda items.
The motions were voice votes and were recorded as approved without roll-call tallies. No amendments to the motion to elect officers were recorded at the meeting.
The commission then proceeded to discuss 2025 work priorities and a joint meeting with the City Council, including statutory deadlines and outreach priorities.
