Council rezones parcel for Aldi campus, approves certified survey map to consolidate distribution-site parcels

The Oak Creek Common Council on Jan. 6 approved Ordinance No. 3116 to rezone a 1.6-acre parcel at 9260 South 13th Street from RS-3 Single Family Residential to M-1 Manufacturing District, aligning that parcel with the surrounding Aldi distribution campus.
Christie Lane, community development director, said staff identified the standalone parcel during review of a certified survey map and that the parcel had been purchased by Aldi in the 1980s but never formally rezoned to match the rest of the manufacturing campus. Lane said the rezoning is “clean up” to avoid split-zone parcels after the survey map is recorded and that it is consistent with the city's comprehensive land use map.
Council members took up Ordinance No. 3116 following the public hearing and later approved Resolution No. 12544-010725, a certified survey map to combine multiple parcels at the Aldi distribution facility (addresses included 9150–9440 South 13th Street). Both measures passed by roll-call votes with members present voting in favor.
Lane told the council that plan commission recommended approval on Nov. 12 and staff reported no objections to the rezoning request.
The actions clear title-zone inconsistency and allow Aldi Inc. to proceed with its certified survey map consolidating several distribution-site parcels; tax-key references were given in the council motion and the resolution.
