Board passes consent agenda, approves multiple tax-foreclosure transactions and tables appointments

The board approved initial-offer transactions and upset-bid authorization for the following parcel offers (as presented in the meeting record): - 408 Sutton's Alley (parcel 8-008-166) — initial offer $1,500; tax value $3,000; past-due taxes and foreclosure costs $4,082.81. - 919 Elm Street (parcel 8008034) — initial offer $2,700; tax value $5,400; past-due taxes and costs $4,057.10. - 1009 Main Street (parcel 8007121) — initial offer $2,400; tax value $4,800; past-due taxes and costs $1,920.14. - 1013 Main Street (parcel 8007119) — initial offer $2,400; tax value $48,100; past-due taxes and costs $5,558.72. - 605 Second Avenue (parcel 8012-153) — initial offer $2,700; tax value $5,400; past-due taxes and costs $3,948.79.
The board also approved a final conveyance after the upset-bid period for 1110 Mechanic Street (parcel 8014266) to the successful bidder for $6,000; the county attorney said there were no upset bids.
Appointments: The board reviewed pending appointments and tabled two items for further discussion: the Planning Board District 1 appointment and the Senior Tar Heel Legislative Committee reappointment for Dr. Sinclair. The board asked staff to place the items on the next agenda.
