North Auditorium lighting upgrade forwarded after vendor revises quote; one part discontinued

The committee reviewed a quotation from the same vendor selected for recent JTL lighting work and agreed to forward the upgrade to finance with a revised price.
Staff said the lighting controller is currently a patched system after prior work in the TV studio and that the proposed upgrade would install LED fixtures and an updated controller to meet current specifications. The vendor’s original quote included a component identified as "part 200," but staff learned that part is no longer manufactured; it will be replaced with a comparable "part 300," which raises the project price by about $150 per unit and increases the overall quote by roughly $6,000.
The vendor reportedly offered to absorb that increase for the JTL installation but will charge the district for the North Auditorium because the circumstances differ. Staff expected a revised quote by the end of the week and said the project uses Keystone Purchasing Network pricing (CoStars), which helps hold pricing for a defined period. Committee members asked whether the work could be completed before spring shows; staff indicated the goal is to have work done by the end of June if approved promptly.
The committee voted to forward the lighting upgrade and the revised figure to the finance committee for final approval.
