The Carl Junction Board of Aldermen approved an ordinance adopting Change Order No. 2 to a construction agreement for the 2024 wastewater treatment plant improvements, extending the contract and adding a 12-inch c-channel for $3,090.

The ordinance updates the city’s agreement with the construction contractor on the wastewater treatment plant project to extend the completion date from Dec. 23, 2024, to Jan. 31, 2025, and to add a 12-inch c-channel at an additional cost of $3,090. Staff described the c-channel as a “future-proofing” measure so that when the city converts the oxidation ditch to bubbler operation, crews will be able to bolt in the new equipment without additional draining and associated costs.

Council members moved the ordinance through first and second readings by title only and placed it on final passage. The board approved the final passage vote 7–0 with one absence. The clerk and chair confirmed electronic voting registered the same tally.

According to staff, the channel will be installed while other work is underway to avoid future downtime and additional drain/restore costs. The transcript names a contractor as “G and G Construction” in one place and as “DAG Construction” in another; the text used by staff during the reading described the change order as increasing project cost by $3,090 and extending the schedule to Jan. 31, 2025.

The ordinance authorizes the mayor to execute Change Order No. 2 on behalf of the city. The transcript did not specify the project’s total contract value after the change order; the additional cost specified in the public reading was $3,090.
