Committee approves 2025 meeting calendar changes, removes two council meetings

Chair noted the calendar includes city holidays and said staff proposed keeping the same pattern used in 2024.
A staff member summarized the request: “This calendar doesn't reflect that change yet because it hasn't been approved, but that's what the agenda bill is asking for.” Several councilmembers said they supported the change because it lets staff plan vacations and helps stagger coverage. One councilmember said the city could still use remote options if special meetings were necessary.
The committee agreed to take the revised calendar to full council with the listed dates removed. No roll-call vote or individual tallies were recorded in the committee transcript; the chair indicated consensus and moved the calendar forward.
The committee also discussed the oath-of-office item and other upcoming agenda items but did not take further calendar action at the meeting.
The committee packet shows the item as agenda bill 25006; staff will provide the revised calendar to council for final approval.
