Shops at the Gates plat moves toward public hearing after police and fire comments

Representatives for the Shops at the Gates presented updates to a proposed two-lot subdivision and site plan at U.S. 231 near Park Place, adjacent to Suncrest Christian Church.

The applicant’s representative, speaking at the Jan. 8 study session, said the fire department requested additional hydrants in the front of the development and that police comments focused on the driveway onto U.S. 231 and drivers’ tendency to make left turns at similar driveways. “There is an opportunity which we intend on taking to exaggerate the radii of that driveway to discourage them even more,” the representative said.
