The Parowan Planning and Zoning Commission on Jan. 8 appointed Jamie Bonnett chair and Heather Peete chair pro tem for 2025 by a voice vote during its regular meeting.
The leadership change was made by motion and second during the meeting; commissioners voted “aye” on the combined motion and no opposition was recorded on the record. The commission then continued with its agenda.
The appointments determine who will preside over Planning and Zoning meetings and set the panel’s internal procedures for the year. Commissioners noted the matter of how chairs are chosen may be discussed by the Parowan City Council as part of an administrative-code review scheduled by council members.
Member reports at the end of the meeting included a welcome to new member Shane Williamson, and notice that an alternate, Troy, had submitted a letter stepping down; Tracy Wheeler remains the commission’s sole alternate as of the meeting. The body adjourned after routine business.
The commission’s actions on leadership take effect immediately for the commission’s 2025 schedule.
