Planning staff to advertise sewer-takeover ordinances and recommend release of improvement funds for Aquinas Academy

The Hampton Township zoning and planning office requested authorization Wednesday to advertise ordinances for sanitary-sewer takeovers and to release improvement-security funds tied to a school parking-lot project.

Planning staff said the developer for the Four Seasons subdivision has completed construction and is working with KLH for testing; staff expects the sanitary system will be ready for takeover within about a month and asked for authorization to advertise the takeover ordinance.

Separately, staff requested authorization to advertise a sanitary-takeover ordinance for a single-family dwelling that extended sewer mainline work on Wagner Road; required testing has been completed, staff said.

On a related engineering and inspection matter, staff presented the final request for release of improvement-security funds for Aquinas Academy’s revised parking-lot site plan. Staff reported the developer has nearly completed planting and remaining items and must provide an as-built asphalt survey and final landscaping verification for Gateway Engineers before township verification and release. Staff noted there are streams, a state culvert under the road and wetlands in the area that limit development options; staff expects the outstanding items to be completed within about two weeks based on the developer’s response.

Planning staff indicated they will return with ordinances for council action next month; no final votes were recorded at the meeting on these items.
