And so the co chair and I, you know, talked about the concept of culture night and what a great way it would be to bring our community together, and so that's how that got started. This year's culture night, the theme is love is” and Speaker 2 continued, “the answer, And we've asked families to talk about what they love about their culture, what they love about their food, what they love about where they're from. And so this night is really about what you love.”
A student participant (Speaker 3) said, “My favorite part is seeing all of my friends and classmates that I've known for a long time, watching them, like, present, do a dance, or make some music. If you share your culture, then people are likely also to, like, oh, that's cool. And then you become, like, close with them, you get to interact with them, and that really builds community.”
Speaker 2 characterized the event as a major school gathering: “This is 1 of the biggest events that we have at our school, and it is an opportunity for everyone to come together. And there's so much excitement, so much joy that the the families, the teachers, the students have in sharing in their cultures. And so it really brings our communities together.”
