Mister Beacher (facilities lead) said the swearing-in ceremony on Dec. 30 filled the courtroom and called the occasion “thrilling.” Work remains on pew installation and jury chairs; staff will use inmate work crews alongside county staff to deliver and ready those items. The annex remains on a punch list; the project manager planned to visit the park site later that day to check progress.
Commissioners asked about furniture timing for courtroom suites and whether the 89th judge’s office furniture could be in place before new furniture is moved; staff said the vendor had provided temporary furniture and that permanent pieces were in production with an estimated lead time of a few weeks. The judge noted some miscommunications had delayed certain approvals but said those were cleared and the board would meet to finalize a grand-opening plan.
No formal action was taken; the court closed the meeting after the progress report.
