Council unanimously approves floodplain publication, two reappointments and one alcohol-license committee appointment

The Fond Du Lac City Council on Jan. 8, 2025, approved three resolutions in the consent and action sections: Resolution No. 9157 (publication process for the floodplain zoning ordinance), Resolution No. 9158 (reappointments to the board of review and housing authority board), and Resolution No. 9159 (appointment to the Alcohol License Committee). Each resolution passed unanimously in open session.
Resolution 9157: City Attorney Hoffman explained the council had followed an alternate publication process allowed under state code to avoid printing the entire floodplain zoning ordinance in the newspaper. The ordinance copy was made available in the clerk’s office and on the city website as an equivalent means of publication; the council approved the certification that the city complied with the law. The motion was made by Councilmember Godfrey and seconded by Councilmember Mullen.
Resolution 9158: City Manager Moore recommended reappointment of two individuals: Ms. Thalekker for a third term on the board of review and Ms. Loof for a second term on the housing authority board (to work with Ms. Gudex). The council approved the reappointments on a motion by Councilmember Schisler, seconded by Councilmember Heisler.
Resolution 9159: City Manager Moore introduced a new appointment to the Alcohol License Committee: Mr. Hayes applied to serve on the ALC and the manager recommended approval. The council approved the appointment on a motion by Councilmember Zimmerman, seconded by Councilmember Godfrey.
