Examples discussed included an apparent mismatch in the town business district that permits nursing homes but not assisted-living facilities and a question about whether accessory rental units (in-law quarters) should be explicitly addressed in the UDO. Commissioners said identifying and prioritizing such conflicts will make consultant work more efficient under a capped budget.
Commissioners asked staff for digital or printed copies of the new comprehensive plan and noted the plan is intended to guide the town’s growth for the next five to ten years. The interactive map includes links to parcel-level UDO and comprehensive-plan entries, enabling commissioners to capture screenshots and forward correction requests to staff.
Next steps: commissioners will continue tagging specific UDO language and map parcels for the consultant to review, prioritizing conflicts that most affect local development and services.
