The Reading Zoning Hearing Board on Jan. 8 voted to approve relief requested in two appeals read into the record at the start of the meeting and then moved on to hear additional cases whose decisions were continued to the board’s February session.
The board approved the relief requested for appeal 2411-0031 (1010 Elm Street) and for appeal 2407-0019 (TSG Auto Service LLC, 2010 Fairmount Avenue, rear lot). On the record the chair asked for a motion and the board members voiced “aye”; the chair then announced that the ayes have it. For the TSG Auto Service appeal a board member noted a recusal due to membership in the North End Rod and Gun Club; that recusal was recorded on the transcript.
Later in the meeting members heard testimony on multiple appeals — including the Reading Parking Authority’s request for variances at 213 South 11th, a special-exception request for a daycare at 1506 North 13th Street, and two separate parking/lot-configuration appeals — and set decisions on those matters for their February meeting.
The board’s January session included the receipt of exhibits and sworn testimony but no further roll-call votes beyond the two initial approvals.
