Longmont senior center reports new hires, e‑lottery signup success and increased trip capacity

Staff reported they have extended an offer to a bilingual full‑time office assistant, and expect to onboard new part‑time staff in coming weeks. Regarding programs, staff said the center moved to an electronic lottery for trip registrations, which yielded more than 1,000 trip registrations and 331 participants on trips so far; staff described the change as making the process more equitable and flexible for registrants.
The center completed its second annual Deck the Halls fundraiser, which brought in more than 1,000 donations for the center's food pantry. Staff also said the snowshoe hike and other trip programs are returning in 2025 and that additional vehicles — once approved by fleet and purchased — will increase trip capacity (current single‑trip vehicle capacity described as 26 participants). Fleet is still finalizing inventory checks before purchase decisions can proceed.
Staff said they are assembling updated board rosters and would share them when complete. No formal board action was taken; staff asked members to review the packet materials and noted they'll provide updated attendance and program numbers at the next meeting.
