Council declines GoRail letter of support for TxDOT railroad-project funding
Summary

Councilmember Nance and Councilmember Stone supported providing the letter; Councilmember Stevens said he had attempted outreach to GoRail before the meeting but did not receive responses and expressed concern about the organization’s responsiveness. Stevens voted against providing the letter and said GoRail’s outreach practices left him unwilling to support the request.
The motion to provide a letter of support failed 3–2; council members Stevens, Escobedo and Martinez voted against the motion while Stone and Nance voted in favor. The council did not adopt a letter of support at the meeting.
