Chicopee School Committee names Don Lamothe vice chair; Sandra Perrette to represent committee to city government

At the Chicopee School Committee organizational meeting on Jan. 8, the committee elected Don Lamothe as vice chair and approved Sandra Perrette as its representative to city government.

The committee opened nominations for vice chair; a member identified as Grace nominated Don Lamothe. A motion to close nominations passed, and the committee accepted the nomination. The chair declared Lamothe vice chair for 2025.

Committee members then opened nominations for the committee's representative to city government. Sandra Perrette was nominated and, with nominations closed and no additional nominees, the committee voted to confirm her as representative. The chair congratulated Perrette despite her not being present at the meeting.

Both selections were handled by nomination and voice vote; no roll-call tally beyond a voice vote was recorded for the vice chair nomination. The actions complete the committee's officer elections for the year.
