The Connecticut State Advisory Council for Special Education Executive Committee on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2025, voted to postpone approval of the Nov. 7, 2024 meeting minutes and later approved a motion to adjourn the Jan. 8 meeting.
Chair Susan Yankee presided. Yankee said the minutes were not yet available and asked that approval be moved to a later meeting so members would have time to review them: “So I would I'd rather move vote to move the meet the the, the minutes to a later meeting so that we can all have a moment to look at them if that's possible.”
A committee member moved to postpone the minutes; a second was called for but not named on the record. Yankee asked, “Anyone second? Great. Anyone abstain?” The committee then approved the postponement by voice.
Near the scheduled adjournment the committee approved a motion to adjourn. A committee member moved for adjournment; the chair closed the meeting at 10:50 a.m.
Nut graf: The committee’s recorded formal actions on Jan. 8 were procedural: members delayed approval of prior meeting minutes because the minutes were not yet available and completed the meeting with a routine adjournment vote. No substantive policy decisions were taken during those recorded votes.
Both votes were taken by voice during the meeting; no roll-call tallies were given in the transcript.
