Once a school’s 20 spots are filled, applicants are placed on a wait list. Parents of approved applicants must complete online registration (OLR) between April 9 and April 30 to hold the spot, Baker said.
For kindergarten, Baker said registration is projected to open April 14 and run through April 30. Registration for incoming first through 12th grade students will be open April 14 through May 30; the district will publicize kindergarten dates in late March and other grade windows in early April. Baker said the earlier kindergarten window helps the district finalize teacher staffing and class counts for the coming year.
Board members praised the online system’s improvements compared with past, in‑person sign‑up processes. Baker said most schools have capacity variances and that the district will open additional registration if spots remain after April 30.
No board action was recorded; the presentation was informational and staff said they will begin public notices and outreach in coming weeks.
