Trustee says ICC resolution on lead lateral funding reached governor's office; next step depends on state proposal

Trustee McGovern told fellow trustees that the village's ICC resolution seeking additional funding for replacing lead laterals and water mains had been delivered to Representative Darren Madison and discussed with the governor's office. “We had gotten the, ICC resolution requesting additional funding for replacing lead laterals and water mains, to his office in time to bring it up directly with the governor,” McGovern said.
McGovern said there was no commitment made by the governor’s office but described the submission as part of the process. “There was not any commitment made, but it's it's part of the process that, you know, that resolution was gotten to him on time,” McGovern said. She said the resolution came from multiple governments in Milwaukee County.
The trustee said the next step is to await the governor's proposal and then decide whether to support or seek to strengthen any state funding allocation for the work.
