Resident asks for meeting notice and cleanup on Huntington Drive; city says sweepers idle until spring

City staff responded that sweepers cannot operate in sustained freezing temperatures because salt and freezing conditions would damage the equipment; staff said they swept the area three times prior to the recent cold snap. Staff indicated sweepers will resume in spring when weather permits.
Council acknowledged Cox’s request and said the meeting timing and a draft letter to affected residents would be addressed later in the meeting. The council also discussed mailing an informational invitation to Eastland Estate residents about a Jan. 23 meeting regarding subdivision street questions.
