The Kent School District Board voted unanimously at its Jan. 8 meeting to approve several policy updates and routine consent items.

- Policy 2022 (Electronic resources and Internet safety): adopted, vote 4–0.
- Policy 2023 (Digital citizenship and media literacy): adopted, vote 4–0.
- Policy 3530 (Fundraising activities involving students): adopted, vote 4–0.
- Policy 5060 (Employee identification badge): adopted, vote 4–0.
- Gifts, donations and memorials (item 7.02): accepted, vote 4–0. Notable donations included PTAs providing funds for elementary field trips and a climbing wall installation.
- Consent agenda (items 8.01–8.05, including added personnel report 8.05): approved, vote 4–0.
Board members said the policies had been reviewed in prior work sessions; there was little substantive debate during the meeting. The personnel report — which staff explained included resignations and hirings that accumulated over the winter break — was added to the consent agenda the same day and approved as part of the consent package.
The board also authorized routine items and informational procedures associated with the newly adopted policies.
