Wyoming Valley West SD schedules basement plumbing work over Martin Luther King weekend; third-avenue relining update still pending

Mister Denton, reporting for buildings and grounds, told the board Site Log contacted the district to request access to remove ceilings in the basement of the meeting building to complete in‑floor plumbing for first‑floor bathrooms. He said the work is scheduled over the Martin Luther King weekend.
"They're going to be taking the ceilings down in the basement of this building to do the in floor plumbing for the first floor bathrooms to finish them up," Denton said during the Jan. 8 work session.
Board members also asked about a previously raised relining of a pipe on Third Avenue. Multiple speakers said they had not received an update from the contractor or from Mister Cortez. One board member reported that the last site visit during a rain event found the basement dry, that gutters had been repaired and that photographs were taken; the member asked the head custodian, Barry, to continue monitoring the area and to share any new pictures with staff.
No formal action was taken at the work session; members directed staff to follow up with the contractor and the head custodian to confirm scheduling and to monitor any water infiltration after the next storm or thaw.
