Wyoming Valley West SD board advances comprehensive policy rewrite; final approvals expected in spring

Mister McGinley, a member of the Wyoming Valley West School District board, told the Jan. 8 work session the district has many updated policies on the agenda and credited staff and volunteers for doing much of the work.
"The team of people who have been working on these policies really deserve a lot of credit," McGinley said, adding that the work began before he joined the board and that the district's attorney, superintendent and administrative staff contributed to updates.
McGinley named Superintendent Mister Tash, Mister Novakki, Miss Troy, Mister Dickin and the district attorney as participants. He also singled out Miss Bullock, saying she "does a lot of the laid work in the preparation and presentation of the policies that we see." Another board member, Mister Kamath, said the manual is about three sections from completion and expressed hope the full policy manual would be finished before April or May.
Board members noted the district consulted the Pennsylvania School Boards Association as part of the update process. The policies discussed at the work session will return for fuller review and likely final action at a future public meeting.
