Norfolk County RSVP reports 7th annual holiday drive and director Robert Pearson to retire next month

Pearson described other volunteer supports: the program provided $30 Stop & Shop gift cards to volunteers over the holidays, which he said elicited gratitude from recipients, and the county issues quarterly mileage reimbursements to about 60 volunteers (roughly 40 drivers for veterans and about 20 other drivers), paid in part via a federal grant; Pearson said the county pays roughly $4,000 per quarter from grant funds toward mileage.
Commissioners praised the program’s outreach and asked about Ride2Vet driver availability; Pearson said volunteer numbers are steady, with occasional shortages for early-morning trips into Boston.
