District staff provided an update on facilities and bond-funded projects tied to remodeling the high school, Grandview Middle School work and stadium/primary-site improvements.
Staff said construction at the high school will begin with site preparation and barricading parts of the northwest campus over spring break; a public groundbreaking is planned for April 3. Work is expected to proceed in phases so portions of the building can open to students before the entire project is complete. Staff said some summer work will focus on Grandview Middle School and that stadium and primary-field maintenance will be scheduled for summer 2026.
Staff framed the phased approach as a way to allow seniors and other students to experience completed portions of the high school rather than spending the entire year in a building under construction. The district plans to provide regular updates from the construction manager (Kraus Anderson referenced) about progress and timelines; staff said communications to families will be ongoing.
Board members asked about timing and weather contingencies; staff said start dates will depend on favorable weather and that the barricading over spring break is intended to organize construction with minimal disruption.
No vote was required for the facilities update; the board approved related schedule and digital-day items later in the meeting to gain construction work time.
