The Greenwood Stormwater Board on Jan. 8 approved a services agreement with Wessler (Wessler Engineering Services) not to exceed $90,400 to provide design, bidding, construction administration and resident project representative (RPR) services for the storm sewer rehabilitation project in the Country Air and Cooper subdivisions.
Stormwater staff said they worked with Wessler to reduce the proposal from an earlier figure. The motion approved authorized the stormwater superintendent to sign the final agreement on the board's behalf, with final terms to be reviewed by the legal department.
Board members discussed the RPR role. Kent, identified in the meeting as an engineer, said an RPR is not required to be on site for the entire construction period and that the board typically uses periodic inspections rather than continuous onsite representation. The board adopted the proposal after a verbal motion and second and voted in favor.
The contract covers engineering design through construction administration and includes periodic resident project representative inspections rather than full-time onsite staffing. The board directed legal staff to complete final terms and the superintendent to execute the agreement.
Next steps: legal will finalize terms and the stormwater superintendent will sign the agreement, and staff will schedule design and bidding tasks with Wessler.
