At its Jan. 6 meeting the Everett School Committee unanimously approved a series of donations and grants and authorized payment of bills and payroll totaling $2,709,479.35.

The committee voted to accept a $10,000 engineering grant from Project Lead The Way to Everett High School. It also accepted multiple in‑kind and gift donations from community groups: gift cards totaling $525 and 1,100 sets of winter hats and gloves from the Kiwanis Club of Everett; toys totaling $3,500 from Dr. Brian Leahy for the Whittier School; $1,000 in toys from Mass Appeal International to the Whittier School; and gift cards and toys totaling $1,500 from Teamsters Local 25 to the Covarian School. Each acceptance was accompanied by the committees customary thanks and approved by roll call.

Later in the meeting the committee accepted submitted bills and payroll in the amount of $2,709,479.35 and voted to pay that amount.

All recorded votes on donations and on bills and payroll were approved by roll call. Committee members thanked donors and staff for facilitating distribution to families in need.
