Parks staff introduced new hires for two city cultural facilities.
Rachel (Parks staff) said Mary Beth Nevilles has been promoted to assistant facility coordinator at Canonsburg Village after about 3½ years with the department; Nevilles said she has 25 years of museum experience and is “excited to be a part of the future vision” for the village.
Rachel then introduced Greg Phillipi as facility coordinator at Canonsburg Village; staff said Phillipi holds a degree in art history and two master’s degrees (including fine arts and public history), has curatorial experience at the Tennessee State Museum of Agriculture and work with the National Park Service, and called him suited to lead programming for the village’s 50th anniversary projects.
Susan (Parks staff) introduced Shayla Mayo as the new visual arts/Bradley Academy Museum facility coordinator. Mayo said she began in the department’s Movies Under the Stars program and progressed through visual-arts roles; she described an interest in updating the museum and expanding educational programming.
Commissioners welcomed the new staff and noted Canonsburg Village’s upcoming 50th anniversary and recent holiday decorations.
