The commission approved an in-house homeschool swim training program at Patterson Park that will continue the drop-in format previously provided by an outside vendor.
Staff said the program will run Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1–2 p.m., cover basic competitive swimming and fitness, and maintain a maximum of about 20 participants per class. The fee will remain $5 per session. Parks staff said two instructors with competitive-swimming experience will lead classes.
Commissioners approved the program by roll-call vote. Staff estimated the program’s revenue contribution at roughly $2,500 per year based on historic attendance and said the change would preserve program continuity after the vendor’s departure.
Staff will implement the program and schedule classes for the upcoming term.
