Separately, commissioners ratified an earlier tree-permit approval for four trees removed in connection with work at 133 Forest Street (Salem Country Club); commission staff said three of the removed trees were city-owned and the club paid to remove them.
The commission also ratified an emergency certification authorizing beaver-dam breaching on city land (off Crystal Drive / bike path) after the health department deemed the situation an emergency. The health department and Department of Public Services had coordinated the initial work; staff set a debris-removal follow-up date in mid-February and asked commissioners to support removal of leftover debris once the emergency breaching work is complete.
