MCCSC board reorganizes for 2025, approves officers, calendar and committee appointments

At the annual reorganizational meeting, the Monroe County Community School Corporation Board of School Trustees elected officers for 2025, adopted the meeting calendar and approved routine administrative resolutions and appointments.

April Hennessy was elected board president; Aaron Cooperman was elected vice president; Ross Grimes was elected secretary; and Ashley Peroni was elected assistant secretary for calendar year 2025. The board adopted the 2025 meeting calendar, which generally schedules meetings on the fourth Tuesday of each month.

The board approved three resolutions and administrative items collectively: Resolution 2025-1 (board member compensation), Resolution 2025-2 (use of facsimile signatures) and annual conflict-of-interest disclosure statements. The board also approved appointment of legal counsel, appointed John Kenny as treasurer and Adam Terwilliger as deputy treasurer, authorized the treasurer and deputy treasurer to invest corporation funds, and appointed Karen Butcher as executive administrative assistant to the board.

The board named ex officio committee liaisons for 2025, including Ashley Peroni as ISBA legislative liaison, Erin Cooperman for the MCCSC Foundation Board, Ross Grimes for the insurance committee and Tiana Rougeau for the high-ability committee. Continuing non-board-member appointments were approved for the MCCSC building committee (Jim Muelling, Sarah Rogers and Martha Street), the Monroe County Solid Waste Citizens Advisory Committee (Brad Lucas) and the Monroe County Library Board (Whitney Eads).

All items presented during the reorganizational meeting were approved by voice vote; the transcript records the motions and that each motion “carries,” but does not record roll-call tallies or any recorded dissent for these routine approvals.
