The Tyler City Council voted Jan. 8 to appoint seven people to the Construction Board of Adjustments and Appeals after staff said the board had lacked a full roster.
City staff presented seven applications and asked the council to appoint Aaron Paul, Chris Moore, Fred Pate, Gion Dietz, Joe McKinney, Laquita Hill and Max Smicker to serve on the board. Staff said several nominees previously served and that the board requires professionals with building- and construction-related expertise to review technical code matters.
A motion to appoint the seven applicants passed on a voice vote; the motion was recorded in the proceedings as moved by Councilmember Nichols and seconded by Councilmember Curtis.
The appointments refill a technical board that handles code appeals and related matters; staff will coordinate swearing-in and scheduling.
