Board extends superintendent contract, promotes associate and raises senior staff pay

Granville County Public Schools’ board approved an extension of Superintendent Dr. Winborn’s contract and took a package of senior-staff contractual actions.
A board member moved to extend Dr. Winborn’s contract for an additional two years, with a 4.5% cost-of-living salary increase effective July 1, 2025. The board approved the extension by voice vote.
Later in the meeting the board approved a motion promoting Jamar Perry to associate superintendent effective July 1, 2025, extended contracts for assistant superintendents to match Dr. Winborn’s through June 30, 2028, and approved a 4.5% cost-of-living salary increase for senior staff (including Perry, Miss Hines and Dr. Curran). The board also asked the board attorney to draft contract amendments to be presented at a subsequent meeting.
Board members made a separate motion to approve the personnel report; one board member recused themself as noted in the record; the board approved the personnel report.
Superintendent Dr. Winborn thanked the board; board members thanked the senior staff for their work.
