Commission presses city for clearer agenda posting, appointment records and attendance policy

The commission also reviewed reappointment procedures. Several members said appointment letters and term-expiration dates were not consistently public on the city website. Coles asked commissioners to provide copies of their appointment letters so the commission can maintain an internal repository and track term expirations; she said she would follow up with human resources and the city clerk.
Finally, commissioners discussed an attendance and participation policy. Coles reported she had contacted the state about open-meeting requirements and found no state-level rule that prescribes a specific absence threshold for commission membership. Commissioners asked the chair to draft a recommended attendance and participation policy and, if necessary, route it to the city solicitor for review before adoption.
