The board confirmed three appointments to county boards that were added to the agenda after the packet was published: the reappointment of Perry Bogish to the cemetery commission, the appointment of Joseph Flynn to complete a term on the cemetery commission, and the reappointment of Troy Gaither to the ambulance board. Each appointment was moved and seconded and approved without recorded dissent.
Economic development staff gave a brief update on Project Prometheus, reporting that the developer and property owner were continuing discussions and that there was no timeline yet. Andrea Lindy of IVC briefed commissioners: “the developer and the client are still having discussions,” she said. Staff urged the board that county staff should continue building a more complete inventory of land-development properties and utility contacts to speed future projects.
Commissioner Michael used his time for a public compliment to the highway department for its work during a recent snow event, saying the department’s response produced “really no complaints” apart from isolated misunderstandings. The meeting closed with an announcement that Cassie Wright will leave the county’s human-resources department and that the HR vacancy will be posted.
Routine administrative motions to approve the previous meeting minutes, claims and the payroll docket were moved, seconded and approved. The board adjourned and set its next regular meeting for Jan. 21 at 9:30 a.m.
