At a meeting of the DuPage County Public Works Committee, members approved payment of claims, a $2,241 transfer for overtime, and formal closure of three county contracts, and asked staff to provide updates on several facility projects.
The committee approved minutes from the Public Works meeting of Dec. 3, 2024; moved and approved payment of claims coded 2020 2540 147 to Public Works Facilities Management; and approved a transfer of $2,241 to cover grounds overtime. Members also voted to combine agenda items 8a, 8b and 8c and then approved three contract closeouts: a decrease and closeout for SNI Solutions in the amount of $25,720; a decrease and closeout for Clover Inc. in the amount of $68,608.61; and a closeout for Joseph R. Henderson & Son Inc. reflecting a decrease and final amount of $313,576.95 due to project completion. Each motion was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
Chair Childress opened the meeting and said, "I have no chair remarks except for the fact that I'm excited about this committee and, I'm hoping to do a lot of good things." The meeting record shows there was no public comment.
During the old-business portion of the agenda a member asked for updates on projects the committee has been monitoring, specifically the status of quiet rooms, additional electric-vehicle chargers and further solar arrays on county property. A staff member replied, "No problem. We can do that," and indicated the committee would receive an update at the next meeting.
The actions recorded at the meeting were procedural and administrative; discussion on the items on the agenda was brief. There was no formal public hearing or extended debate recorded in the transcript. The meeting adjourned after the committee completed the listed agenda items.
