Commissioners adopt ordinance changing Destiny Court property from farm use to multiple-use agriculture

The Deschutes County Board of Commissioners adopted Ordinance 2024-012 on second reading, changing the comprehensive plan designation and zoning for a Destiny Court Properties LLC parcel from Exclusive Farm Use (EFU) to Multiple Use Agriculture (MUA 10) and from Agriculture to Rural Residential Exception Area on the comprehensive plan map.
Anthony Riggini of the county’s Community Development Department presented the item and said there were no changes between first and second reading. Riggini told commissioners that if adopted at second reading the ordinance becomes effective 90 days after adoption.
The board voted to adopt the ordinance. The roll-call as recorded in the meeting: Commissioner Dyer — yes; Commissioner Chang — no; Chair DeBone — yes. The chair announced the ordinance had been adopted and recorded the second reading by title only prior to the final adoption motion.
