The Lakeville City Council voted unanimously Jan. 6 to grant an on‑sale liquor license to Farmer’s Grandson Eatery, a hospitality group converting a former Amoco convenience store and building a bar at the same site.
Tony Donatell, appearing on behalf of his brother Paul Donatell (who is the applicant and described by his brother as "the finance guy behind our hospitality group"), told the council the remodel will offer quick‑casual food service with limited seating and an adjoining bar for on‑site sales. "We're hoping for sometime in March," Tony Donatell said when asked about an expected opening date.
The council opened a public hearing on the license request and closed it with no public comments. The roll call vote on the license recorded ayes from Council Members Fulk, Hellyer, Bermel, Walter and Lee; the mayor declared the motion approved.
There were no council conditions announced at the time of the vote. The council did not take any separate action on the related building remodel during the liquor license discussion.
The applicant team described the property as the outpost/convenience store formerly operating at the site and said they had altered the menu and remodeled the interior to support counter ordering and a small seating area alongside a new bar.
