Planning Board approves restored Haddon Hall hotel with rooftop restaurant, limits on outdoor audio

Planning Board on Jan. 7 approved a multi‑building hotel project that assembles 1509–1515 Washington Avenue and 1500 Collins Avenue into a renovated Haddon Hall complex with a new seven‑story tower and rooftop restaurant and pool deck.

The board's approval came with conditions designed to limit noise and curb traffic impacts, including a requirement for a dock master to coordinate deliveries, a minimum number of valet attendants, a prohibition on outdoor speakers for music (except for life‑safety systems), limits on activation of an existing courtyard, and an annual progress report that must include a post‑opening traffic/valet analysis.

The hotel team said the revised project enlarges guest rooms from earlier plans, adds restoration work at the historic Haddon Hall and reconnects mid‑block circulation between Collins and Washington avenues.
