The Town of Norwood Planning Board voted to approve a permanent sign for Lavish Aesthetics at 717 Washington Street during its meeting.
The applicant said she intends to replace a rotting wooden frame and vinyl banner with a PVC sign of the same dimensions at the same location. The applicant described the new sign as permanent PVC, not a temporary vinyl banner, and said it would not be illuminated. Planning staff confirmed a rendering and asked for a materials list to be submitted for the record.
The board asked a few procedural and technical questions. Board member Derek asked whether the sign would be illuminated; the applicant replied there would be no lighting. Planning staff (Sarah) requested that the applicant forward the vendor materials list to the planning office for the file.
After brief discussion, a motion to approve the sign site plan was made and seconded. The chair called for the vote and recorded one named opposition from Debbie Newman; other board members voted in favor. The motion carried.
The applicant, who identified herself as an aesthetician and said she has operated in Norwood for 12 years, thanked the board. The board closed the item and moved to the next agenda item.
