Commissioner George noted the city has in the past adopted resolutions about use of the city logo and suggested the same formal approach could be used to prevent organizations from using the city address without consent. City manager Max said the city had received Civic Association mail for decades but routinely returns such mail to sender and does not accept or process mail on the association’s behalf.
No formal complaint, citation or enforcement action was recorded at the meeting. Commissioners asked staff to consider communicating with the association and to potentially add a future agenda item to require organizations using the city emblem or address to have documented consent or an authorized BTR/PO box per city code.
