Tippecanoe County Drainage Board elects officers, appoints executive administrator and approves annual contracts

The Tippecanoe County Drainage Board on Jan. 8 elected Tracy Brown as president and Tom Murtaugh as vice president and appointed Tara Wood as the board’s 2025 executive administrator.
The board confirmed the slate after a motion and a second and approved the nomination by voice vote. It then moved to appoint Tara Wood as drainage board executive administrator; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
The board approved the minutes of its Dec. 11 meeting after a motion and second and then considered annual contracts. County staff presented three contracts that the board typically reviews each year: legal services with Hoffman, Lumen, and Masson; engineer review services with BFNS; and engineer review services with Christopher Burke Engineering. Staff said the contracts were reviewed and were “at market rates” and recommended approval. The board voted to approve the contracts by voice vote.
All routine actions were taken by voice vote with no public comment recorded. The board adjourned after completing the agenda items.
