Four trustees sworn into Clark County School District; agenda adopted unanimously

Trustee Emily Stevens was sworn to represent District A; Trustee Lydia Dominguez was sworn to represent District B; Trustee Tamika Henry was sworn to represent District C; and Trustee Lorena Biasati was sworn to represent District E. Judges from the 8th Judicial District Court administered the oaths for several trustees. After the oaths, the trustees took photos, planned brief media interviews and offered short remarks at the dais.
The swearing-in followed a procedural vote to adopt the meeting agenda. Trustee Cavazos moved to adopt the agenda; Trustee Barone seconded, and Vice President Bustamante Adams announced the motion passed unanimously. At the close of the meeting, Trustee Cavazos moved to adjourn, Trustee Henry seconded, and the board voted 7–0 to adjourn.
Each trustee offered brief remarks after being sworn. Trustee Emily Stevens said her seat "comes with a message that we want our values represented." Trustee Lydia Dominguez said, "Our children are not just our future; they're our present," and pledged to shape opportunities for students. Trustee Tamika Henry said she was "ready to get to work" and asked the community to join in moving the district forward. Trustee Lorena Biasati described the board as "unlike any other" and said she was "incredibly excited to be part of something so magical."
The meeting included a student performance by Silverado High School and announcements that trustees would step away briefly for media interviews before returning for a reception. The board also noted logistics for public comment and reminded attendees that the board cannot deliberate on items not on the agenda under the open-meeting rules.
