The Federal Way City Council on Tuesday authorized the mayor to execute a two‑year collective bargaining agreement with the Police Support Services Association (PSSA) covering 2025 and 2026.
Human resources staff said the PSSA contract represents 30 police support staff classifications. The agreement, ratified by union membership, includes a 3.5% cost‑of‑living adjustment effective Jan. 1, 2025, and a 3.5% adjustment on Jan. 1, 2026, market salary survey implementation for several classifications, an increased annual boot allowance for animal control and transport officers, a new eight‑hour floating holiday, and higher education pay incentives. City staff estimated the additional 2025 cost at approximately $260,000 and the 2026 cost at about $220,000.
Council President moved approval; the motion passed unanimously. The mayor was authorized to sign the agreement.
