"This request is for approval to procure the software services and for a computerized maintenance management system for Rockwell Automation," a staff member identified as Carl told the council. Carl said the system would serve public works, building and grounds, streets, stormwater, vehicle maintenance, parks, the water treatment plant and the wastewater treatment plant.
Carl told the council the year-one cost for software configuration assistance and training is $46,728 and that annual recurring costs would be about $31,680. He said two existing systems would be retired and the new purchase would offset roughly $10,578 of current expenditures in the first year. The departments conducted an extensive pilot with the water treatment plant before recommending the Rockwell solution.
Council members asked whether departments would share data in a single instance or separate instances. Carl said each department would have a separate instance with integration features that allow cross-department inventory visibility and reporting.
