The Lake Oswego City Council completed its organizational business on Jan. 7, electing Councilor Corrigan as council president and approving committee and liaison assignments for 2025.
A council member nominated Councilor Corrigan for council president; the nomination was seconded and the council approved the appointment by unanimous voice vote (6-0). The council then adopted the consent agenda, which included approval of 2025 council liaison and committee assignments and the Nov. 19 and Dec. 3 meeting minutes; the consent agenda passed 6-0.
Why it matters: Electing a council president establishes council leadership for the year and committee assignments determine which council members serve as liaisons to standing boards, committees and regional bodies. The votes were procedural and adopted without debate.
Ending: With organizational and consent votes completed, the council proceeded to presentations and substantive agenda items.
