The consent agenda was moved by Commissioner Goins and seconded by Commissioner Hughes; the roll call again showed 12 in favor, none opposed, and two absent.
During committee reports, Commissioner Mason provided the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) litter-grant monthly report for the district. Mason said county roadsides totaled 7,194 miles, state roadsides 302 miles and city roadsides 80 miles; total litter picked up was reported as 31,520 pounds and recycled items totaled 13,100 pounds. Mason thanked probation crews and sheriff's office personnel who assisted with pickups.
Other routine business included announcements about upcoming committee meetings: the Education Committee will meet at noon on Thursday in the commission conference room, and the Building and Land Committee will meet at 11 a.m. on Jan. 13. Commissioner Collins also announced the ad hoc growth policy committee's recommendation and the public hearings scheduled for Jan. 13 and Jan. 21.
