Ordinance committee backs appointment of Wadesa McCullough to Brockton Board of Health

The ordinance committee voted to recommend the appointment of Wadesa McCullough, MPH, CPH, to a three-year term on the Brockton Board of Health.
Mayor Robert S. Sullivan told the committee that recent resignations left the Board of Health short of medical expertise and that McCullough, a doctorate candidate recommended by board leadership, would help fill that gap. McCullough said she has been committed to public health for 13 years and currently works for Brockton Neighborhood Health Center.
The mayor noted that the city is actively searching for a health commissioner and that outside legal counsel is working on matters related to cigarettes and liquor that involve the Board of Health. A motion to recommend McCullough's appointment favorably was made, seconded and carried.
The committee's recommendation will be forwarded to the full City Council for final confirmation.
