ETSB reports PSAPs in Peoria, Bartonville and Stark County operating without issues; staffing improving

A staff representative appearing for the Emergency Telephone System Board told the Peoria County Public Safety and Justice Committee that the county’s primary PSAPs are operating normally and that staffing has improved after recent hires.
“Stark County is done. Congrats,” a staff member said, and added that only minor items remain to be completed at that PSAP. The staff member said the PSAP has been up and running since the grand opening in October and that supervisors had not reported operational issues since then.
The staff presentation noted that Bartonville and Peoria PSAPs are both running well and that recent hiring has improved dispatcher staffing. The committee asked about staffing; staff replied that the PSAP administrator, Brandon Blaney, reported hiring three or four new dispatchers and that a previously vacant position in Martinville has been filled by a new hire who is in training and expected to complete training by March.
Committee members asked routine follow-up questions and thanked staff for the update.
